Background selection and removal using chroma key

In this article, you will learn how to select and remove background of a video using chroma key in the Creator app. Good background subtraction helps identify players more accurately for highlighting and moving.

Background selection and removal using chroma key

1. After opening a video in the Creator app, click on the "Select Chroma Key Color" button from the default left panel.
   
2. Once clicked, the default left panel will be replaced with another panel featuring chroma key menu options, consisting of two buttons and three sliders for controlling background selection.
   
3. Click on the "Select Background Color" button from the chroma key menu panel. Then click on the video at a certain frame to select a background color.
   
4. Upon clicking, it will highlight the background in the video that can be removed, marking it in pink.
   
5. Then adjust the values of the three sliders: "Change hue threshold", "Change saturation threshold", and "Change lower value threshold" in the chroma key options panel to remove the background more effectively, as shown below.
   
6. For better background removal, use the lowest possible values on all sliders so that it will highlight most of the background in the video that can be removed, indicated in pink.
   
7. After successfully achieving the selection and removal of the background, click on the "Close Chroma Key Menu" button to close the chroma key menu options and revert to the default left panel.
