Before you begin

Read this article (future article) to know the difference between primary categories, secondary categories and labels. This will help you design a tag template for your unique application.

The chart below shows the journey you will take to convert your design into a functioning tag template.

Creating a new template

After opening an organization, click on the hamburger menu button positioned in the top-left:

Once clicked, it will display three menu options namely "Admin panel", "Tag Templates" and "User Settings". Click on the "Tag Templates" button:

Once clicked, a new page will open with the "MANAGE TEMPLATES" tab selected. Click on the "New template name" input field to assign a name for the new template:

After writing the name of the template (e.g. "Football template") to be created, press "Enter" key or click on "CREATE NEW TEMPLATE" button:

After pressing "Enter" key or clicking on "CREATE NEW TEMPLATE" button, a new template will be created as shown below:

Click on the “DESIGN” button to open the “Football template” page:

"Football template" is opened. By default, there are no categories and labels.

Create or import categories and labels

You have two options: Option 1, create new categories and labels; or Option 2, import existing ones.

Note: Categories and labels created within one template can be imported for use in others. This unique feature of reusing labels and categories to create tags facilitates the generation of KPIs and summaries across multiple files and folders.

Option 1: Creating a primary category

Once “Football template” page opens, click on the "Enter new category" input field to assign a name for the new primary category:

After adding the name (e.g. "Home buildup") of the primary category, press "Enter" key or click on the “+” button to create primary category:

Once clicked, a new primary category named "Home buildup" will be created as shown below:

Click on down arrow button on the primary category card to show the details of "Home buildup" primary category:

These are the details of the current primary group. By default, shortcut key, alias, fill color and stroke color will not be chosen; and pre/post-roll times will be set to 5 seconds.

You can add an alias (e.g. "H buildup") for a primary category by typing in the input field shown below. The alias field is optional and is shown instead of the name of primary category in "Tagger".

You can assign a shortcut key (e.g. "B") for a primary category by typing in the input field shown below:
Note: Each shortcut key must be unique and is assigned specifically to one category or label only.

After assigning a shortcut key to a primary category, click outside the input field to ensure the assigned shortcut key is displayed here.

To assign a fill color or background color for a primary category, click on down arrow shown below:

Once clicked, a dropdown of light colors will appear that are suitable for a fill color. Select a color from this dropdown menu as the fill color:

The selected fill color appears as shown below.

To assign a stroke color or border color for a primary category, click on down arrow shown below:

Once clicked, it will display a dropdown of bright colors suitable for a stroke color. Select a color from this dropdown menu as the stroke color:

The selected stroke color appears here.

Set stroke width value (e.g. "5") by using slider shown below:

After setting the stroke width value, stroke color will appear as below.

Pre-roll time shown below defines the seconds before the current video time and it is the start time of an event. It can be updated by clicking on and typing in the input field shown below:

You can increase or decrease the pre-roll time by using the up and down arrows provided in the input field shown below:

Post-roll time shown below defines the seconds after the current video time and it is the end time of an event. It can be updated, increased, or decreased in the same way as the pre-roll time.

You can create multiple primary categories as per your requirement like shown below.
Note: If you have a free trial subscription, you are allowed to add a maximum of 10 categories and labels within your organization.

Option 2: Importing a primary category

Click on the "Choose existing primary category" button to access a list of primary categories previously established in other templates:

Upon clicking, a dropdown menu will appear, listing all the primary categories from other templates that have not yet been used in the current template. You can select either a single primary category or multiple ones simultaneously by clicking on their respective cards (for e.g. "Home" and "Opposition") in the dropdown shown below:

Selected primary categories will get displayed here.

Once you have selected the primary categories from the dropdown, click on the "ADD TO CURRENT TEMPLATE" button to add them into the current template:

After adding, primary categories such as "Home" will appear in the template, as shown below, sorted in alphabetical order. To view categories like "Opposition", scroll down:

The "Opposition" primary category can be seen here.

Option 1: Creating a secondary category

After opening a template page, click on the "Enter new sub category" input field to assign a name for the new secondary category:

After adding the name (e.g. "Location") of the secondary category, press "Enter" key or click on the “+” button to create secondary category:

Once clicked, a new secondary category named "Location" will be created as shown below:

Option 2: Importing a secondary category

Click on the "Choose existing secondary category" button to access a list of secondary categories previously established in other templates:

Upon clicking, a dropdown menu will appear, listing all the secondary categories from other templates that have not yet been used in the current template. You can select either a single secondary category or multiple ones simultaneously by clicking on their respective cards (for e.g. "Players" and "Possession") in the dropdown shown below:

Selected secondary categories will get displayed here.

Once you have selected the secondary categories from the dropdown, click on the "ADD TO CURRENT TEMPLATE" button to add them into the current template:

After adding, secondary categories such as "Players" and "Possession" will appear in the template, as shown below, sorted in alphabetical order.

Option 1: Creating a label

You can use the hamburger menu button shown below to either show or hide the existing labels for a secondary category. Click on it to create a label:
Note: A label can only be part of one secondary category in a template.

Once clicked, it will display all existing labels. Currently it has no labels. Click on the "Enter new label" input field to assign a name for the new label:

After adding the name (e.g. "Defense") of the label, press "Enter" key or click on the “+” button to create label:

Once clicked, a new label named "Defense" will be created as shown below. The number "1" on the "X" button indicates that a single label exists for this secondary category.

Option 2: Importing a label

To import a label, click on the hamburger menu button shown below:

Click on the "Choose existing label " button to access a list of labels previously established in other templates:

Upon clicking, a dropdown menu will appear, listing all the labels from other templates that have not yet been used in the current template. You can select either a single label or multiple ones simultaneously by clicking on their respective cards in the dropdown shown below:

Selected labels will get displayed here.

Once you have selected the labels from the dropdown, click on the "ADD TO CURRENT TEMPLATE" button to add them into the current template:

After adding, labels will appear in the template as shown below, sorted in alphabetical order.
