Single frame gait analysis

In this article, you will learn how to conduct single frame gait analysis in the Creator app of SPAN sports performance analysis platform.

Before you begin

  1. To learn how to open a video in the Creator app, refer to this article.
  2. Coach on camera or camera capture feature can be combined with gait analysis. To learn how to add camera capture to recordings in the Creator app, refer to this article.

Gait analysis

  1. In individual sports such as weightlifting, archery, and shooting, gait analysis plays a pivotal role.
  2. Moreover, it is also applicable in team sports such as squash, cricket, and football, where conducting gait analysis can provide valuable insights.
  3. To examine a player's gait, the "Analyze Gait" feature in the Creator app can be utilized.
  4. This analysis includes the positioning of various body parts, including the shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, heels, and foot tips.
  5. While conducting the gait analysis, the left side of the player's body is highlighted in blue, while the right side is highlighted in purple.
  6. Any connection points between the left and right sides are highlighted in white.

Enable single frame gait analysis

  1. After opening a video in the Creator app and navigating to a specific frame for conducting gait analysis on a player's body, click on the "Analyze Gait" button located at the bottom of the left panel.
  2. Once clicked, the player's gait will be visually highlighted on their body as shown below.

Disable single frame gait analysis

  1. To disable gait analysis, you can either press "Esc" key or play the video.
  2. Once the frame of the video moves to the next, the gait analysis will be disabled.
