Lower third

In this article, you will learn how to fire an lower third graphic like the below one in EvoFX broadcast graphics platform studio.


Before you begin

  1. To learn how to select a match in EvoFX studio, refer to this article.
  2. Currently, the EvoFX studio features five lower thirds named "LOWER THIRD 1", "LOWER THIRD 2", "LOWER THIRD 3", "LOWER THIRD 4" and "LOWER THIRD 5".
  3. Each of these can be enabled, edited, and disabled in the same way.
  4. For the purposes of this article, we will focus on the first lower third, named "LOWER THIRD 1".

Lower third in preview

  1. To enable the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic in the "PREVIEW" window, click on the "LOWER THIRD 1" button in the "CONTROLS" column. Upon clicking, "LOWER THIRD 1" will turn red in both the "CONTROLS" and "SLOTS" columns and become visible in the "PREVIEW" window at the top left of the page.
  2. You can also enable the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic in the "PREVIEW" window through another method by ensuring it's enabled in both the "CONTROLS" and "SLOTS" columns. Follow these steps to do so:
    1. Navigate to the "SLOTS" column for "LOWER THIRD 1" and click on the dropdown menu.
    2. Upon clicking, the menu will display two options: "OFF" and "ON".
    3. Choose "ON" by clicking on it.
    4. Then, in the "CONTROLS" column, click on the "LOWER THIRD 1" button.
    5. Upon clicking, the "LOWER THIRD 1" will appear red in both the "CONTROLS" and "SLOTS" columns and become visible in the "PREVIEW" window, located at the top left of the page.
  3. To disable the "LOWER THIRD 1" in preview mode, you can either click on the "LOWER THIRD 1" button in the "CONTROLS" column or select "OFF" from the "LOWER THIRD 1" dropdown menu in the "SLOTS" column.

Customizing the lower third

  1. You can also customize the text input details in the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic by editing it in the settings column located on the right side of the page.
  2. To do this, click on the edit button in the settings column of "LOWER THIRD 1" as indicated below.
  3. Upon clicking, a dialog box titled "Add Text Inputs for Lower third 1" will open.
  4. This dialog box will contain two input fields: "Text Input 1" and "Text Input 2".
  5. To update the text, simply rename the text in the input fields and either press the enter key or click outside the input fields to ensure the changes are reflected in the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic.
  6. To close the dialog box, click on the "CLOSE" button located at the bottom of the box. 
Notes
Note: Currently, you can add up to two lines of text for the lower third graphic.


Lower third in live

  1. Once you have confirmed that the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic is correctly displayed in the "PREVIEW" window, you can push it to the "LIVE" window.
  2. To push it to the "LIVE" window, click on the "TRANSITION" button as shown below.
  3. After clicking, the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic will appear in the "LIVE" window with animations.
  4. Once the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic is in the "LIVE" window, "LOWER THIRD 1" buttons in both the "CONTROLS" and "SLOTS" columns will turn green.
  5. To remove the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic from the "LIVE" window, click on the "LOOSE ALL" button as shown below.
  6. Upon clicking, the "LOWER THIRD 1" graphic will be removed from the "LIVE" window.
