Import from Google Sheet

In this article, you will learn how to import text inputs from Google Sheet for a graphic.

Before you begin

To learn how to preview a graphic in EvoFX broadcast graphics platform studio, refer to this article.

Text inputs from Google Sheet

You can prepare a Google Sheet with some texts and import them into EvoFX text inputs of a graphic by following these steps:
  1. Copy URL of Google Sheet
  2. Paste URL of Google Sheet into text input dialog box
  3. Enable text from different columns of Google Sheet
a. Copy URL of Google Sheet
  1. You can prepare a Google Sheet with the names of text inputs in different columns, as shown below.
  2. Ensure that the URL of this Google Sheet can be accessed by anyone.
  3. Copy the URL up to, but not including, the "/edit" part, as shown below.
Notes
Note: Make sure that if there are mixed formats like numbers, dates, and text in columns of Google sheet, you set the format to plain text.



b. Paste URL of Google Sheet into text input dialog box
  1. Click on the edit button for a graphic located on the right side of the page.
  2. Once clicked, a dialog box named "Text Inputs for Current Graphic" will open.
  3. The dialog box displays two options: "Manual" and "Google Sheet." By default, the "Manual" option is selected.
  4. Click on the "Google Sheet" option button.
  5. Upon clicking, an input field named "URL" will appear.
  6. Paste the URL of the Google Sheet into this input field and click outside the input field.
  7. It will then validate the link. If the link is valid, a dropdown menu button named "Columns" will appear.
  8. After selecting a column, the preview of text inputs from that column in the Google Sheet will be displayed as shown below, and the text inputs will be updated in the graphic.


c. Enable text from different columns of Google Sheet

After selecting other columns, the preview of text inputs from that columns in the Google Sheet will be displayed as shown below, and the text inputs will be updated in the graphic.
