What is an Deactivation link?

A deactivation link helps end events whose primary categories have manually specified post-roll times. By establishing multiple deactivation links to a single primary category group or label button, you can deactivate several events at once. The primary purpose of these deactivation links is to enable the termination of multiple active events through a single click on a primary category or label button.

Deactivation links between primary categories

Normally, when a primary category button is clicked in the Tagger app, a new event will get created and tagged with this primary category. Using deactivation links, you can simultaneously end a previous event that has been manually tagged with a primary category. To set up such links, follow the steps outlined below:
  1. Open the card of a primary category from the tag template to view its details.
  2. Click on the "Select Action" dropdown located below the "Manage Tag Links" section. This will display options such as "Activate" and "Deactivate".
  3. Select "Deactivate" by clicking on its name. This action will bring up another dropdown titled "Select Category". Click on it.
  4. Upon clicking, a list of manually tagged primary categories included in the current template will appear in the new dropdown. Choose the manually tagged primary category you wish to apply the deactivation link to by clicking on its name.
  5. Once selected, "Deactivate" and the linked primary category will be displayed in red, indicating that the deactivation link has been applied.
  6. If you need to remove the deactivation from the linked primary category, click on the delete icon next to it.
  7. After the deactivation process is complete, navigate to the Tagger app.
  8. Click on the primary category button which is linked to the deactivated primary category.
  9. Once clicked, the primary category creates a new event while simultaneously ending the previous event that was manually tagged with the linked primary category.

Deactivation links between labels and primary categories

Normally, to create an event in the Tagger app, a primary category button needs to be clicked. When a label button is clicked immediately after, it gets attached to this event. Sometimes, it may be desirable to end a previous event linked to a manually tagged primary category. To achieve this, deactivation links between labels and manual primary categories can be setup. You can follow the steps below to create such links:
    1. Open the card of a label from the tag template to view its details.
    8. Click on the label button corresponding to the label in Step 1. This action will end the last event associated with the manually tagged primary category linked to this label via a deactivation link.
