Import XML

In this article, you will learn how to import XML tags into a video file.

Import XML file in Sportscode format

  1. Through this feature, you can upload XML files in Sportscode format to import tags into a video file.
  2. If you want to import two XMLs for two halves of a match, import the XML file of the second half first so that imported events can be moved to the right before importing the XML file of the first half.

Tag template and video timeline

Below, you can see a tag template featuring different primary categories, secondary categories, and labels, as well as the video timeline when a video file is opened in the Tagger app with that tag template without any tags.


Importing XML

  1. To Import XML file, click on the "Upload XML in Sportscode format to import tags" button located on the left panel, as shown below.
  2. Once clicked, a dialog box titled "Import XML" will appear, featuring a button labeled "SELECT XML FILE".
  3. Click on the "SELECT XML FILE" button and choose the desired XML file from your device.
  4. After selecting the desired XML file, the interface will display three columns for Primary Categories, Secondary Categories, and Labels, with headings "Existing" and "Newly Added" for each of them.
  5. Under "Existing," you'll find the Primary Categories, Secondary Categories, and Labels from the newly imported XML file that are already present in the current template.
  6. Under "Newly Added," you'll see the Primary Categories, Secondary Categories, and Labels from the newly imported XML file that are not present in the current template.
  7. Click on the "IMPORT" button in the dialog box to import all the tags from the XML file into the current video file.
  8. Upon clicking, an alert message will appear at the bottom right of the screen, stating "XML import in progress..." as shown below.
  9. Once the XML import is complete, another alert message will appear at the bottom right of the screen, saying "Tags imported successfully from XML. The timeline will be updated shortly" as shown below.
Note: While importing XML, it's important to check for spelling mistakes and spaces between names of existing primary categories, secondary categories, and labels in the organization to reuse them.


Updated template and video timeline

After importing an XML file, you can view the updated tag template, which will include any newly added primary categories, secondary categories, and labels. Additionally, the video timeline will display the tags that were imported from the XML file.
